Handmade necklaces

Wonky Lemon is an independent handmade jewellery brand that started during the lockdown in April 2020. From hobby to small business, Wonky Lemon is run exclusively by Eva, a full-time architect who moved to Glasgow in 2016 from her hometown, Thessaloniki (it's in Greece).

Eva's background in architecture and design is a major influence on her work. She draws inspiration from shapes, forms and colour compositions, always experimenting in the wide range between geometric and abstract. Every piece of jewellery is designed, baked, sanded, drilled, packaged and shipped slowly and with love from her wee flat in Glasgow.

About: About

Sustainability

Sustainability is key to Wonky Lemon and I do my best to ensure that absolutely nothing goes to waste. My target is to create timeless pieces that you will keep for a long long time - the more you love it, the less waste produced :) To ensure no material is wasted from main collections, I use all leftovers to create affordable Zero Waste pieces.

All packaging is from recycled paper and my jewellery boxes are FSCcertified. Most findings and tools are sourcedfrom local shops, where possible.

A new chapter for Wonky Lemon?

Lots of thought, design and work is currently going into a more sustainable material, but more will be shared when it's all ready. Watch this space!!

Donations

Wonky Lemon donates 15% of all online sales each month to different charities. Since April 2020, I have donated over £850 and counting. Here are some of the charities your purchases have supported so far:

Process

Polymer clay might be an easy material to start learning with, but trust me, it takes a long long time to master (and I'm not claiming I have). Essential steps include mixing your own colours, softening the clay, flattening to sheets using roller or pasta machine, cutting it to shapes, sanding, drilling, assembling and finally packaging. Any leftovers are kept to make zero waste pieces! There are so many techniques to experiment with, from 2D pattern making to layering, marbling, beading and more.

I was very lucky to follow some excellent makers who were kind enough to help with many silly queries I had as a beginner. If you have just started out and have any questions, please feel free to ask. I'll be happy to help :)

FAQs

What’s the best way to take care of my jewellery?

It's best not to wear your polymer clay jewellery near water and when showering/bathing/swimming etc. Handle carefully when wearing them or removing from carding. Try not to bend or drop the earrings, as they can be quite fragile depending on thickness. They can be cleaned with a wet clean cloth or rubbing alcohol.

Can I have my order gift-wrapped?

Of course! Although I take pride in making cute packages for everyone anyway, if you want something extra special or let's say it's Christmas, you can just add gift-wrapping at checkout for £2.

What payment methods do you accept?

This website accepts Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express, Paypal, Google Pay, Electro and Apple Pay. We do not see your credit card info.

Would you consider custom orders or wholesale?

In short, yes, but both depend on my availability and how busy I am in my full-time job. Please feel free to contact me if you have something specific in mind, especially variations of my current designs in other colours. I already stock with some local or independent shops and would be happy to receive your interest, if you are an independent shop owner :)

Shipping & Returns

All orders are dispatched within 7 working days maximum, if you want it made faster, please contact me with your requirements. We ship to UK and Europe

  • UK - Royal Mail First Class  FREE or next day delivery for £4

  • Europe - International Tracked & Signed £10

Please note that if a package is returned to the courier depot because the courier was unable to make the delivery it is the customers responsibility to communicate with the courier to re-deliver or pick up their package. If the customer fails to arrange a redelivery or pick up of their package and it is returned back to me the customer will need to pay postage costs again for me to post the parcel out again. If a customer inputs the wrong delivery address and the parcel is delivered to that address it is the customers responsibility to retrieve the package.

Europe & Taxes

Packages heading to Europe may now be subject to import tax depending on your specific countries rules and laws. To avoid this, you can place your order on our Etsy shop - where tax will be added during the checkout process and you will not have to pay any extra on import to your county.

Returns

If you have any problems with your order and would like to return it, please contact me within 14 days of receiving it. Legally I do not accept returns on earrings due to hygiene reasons, but if you have a specific reason you can let me know and I will provide all the info for return and refund to you individually.
